Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Elko, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Job Summary

Provide nursing care in an acute care setting with a focus on Medicine, Surgery, Telemetry, and Pediatrics. The unit has 23 beds with a patient ratio of 1:5 and serves pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

Work Schedule

12-hour shifts
36 guaranteed hours per week
Weekend hours variable
Call requirements as per contract
Potential to float to other departments based on patient census and needs

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Unit & Equipment

Acute Care Services floor
Equipment includes Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter pumps, Masimo Monitors, GE Telemetry Monitoring system
Electronic Health Record system: MEDHOST

Patient Population & Common Diagnoses

Patient populations: Pediatric, Adult, Geriatric
Common conditions: COPD, CHF, Pre/Post Cath Lab care, Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, Acute Respiratory Failure (Adult & Pediatrics)

Additional Information

Fit testing provided on-site
Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel
Weekly orientations provided
No mandatory scrub color; scrubs of any color are acceptable
Local community offers outdoor recreational activities and cultural events
