Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Marquette, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in a 24-bed Neuro/Ortho/Pediatrics unit on the 7th floor of a specialty care hospital.
• Patient population includes all ages over 28 days, with a focus on adults and pediatrics.
• Common diagnoses include trauma, post-operative ortho/neuro cases, and general pediatric care (0-3 pediatric rooms on average).
• Patient ratio is approximately 1:6.
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) system currently Paragon, transitioning to Cerner in March 2024.
• Shift: Night shift (NOC)
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend requirement: 3 weekends every 6 weeks
• No call requirements
• Float required to inpatient units

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Team-oriented with emphasis on collaboration
• Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs; adherence to facility dress code and appearance policy required

Additional Notes

• This is a travel nursing position; candidates must live at least 60 miles away from the facility to qualify for travel status.
• Float responsibilities include coverage of various inpatient units.
