Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours (guaranteed)
Weekend Hours: Alternating weekends
Call Requirements: Possible


Unit and Patient Population

  • Department: Respiratory Therapy (1st Floor)
  • Patient Population: All ages (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
  • Facility Size: 355 beds total, including specialized centers (Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, etc.)
  • Equipment Used:
    • Ventilators: Servo-I, Drager Evita 500, PB 840, Hamilton T-1 & MR-1
    • Bipap: V-60
    • CPAP: ResMed
    • High Flow Oxygen: Optiflow
    • MetaNebs, Vest Therapy
    • Siemens RapidPoint 500e Blood Gas Analyzers
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in North Carolina
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Respiratory Care
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
  • At least 2 years of experience in Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care settings
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Job Responsibilities and Environment

  • Role: Provide respiratory therapy services across a full range of diagnoses and treatments
  • Work Environment: Team-oriented with high retention; ability to work independently is also necessary
  • Float Requirements: None
  • Dress Code: Scrubs preferred in gray or black; any solid color acceptable; no prints

  • November 9, 16
  • December 7
