Description

Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed

Facility & Unit Overview

Community hospital with 171 beds, Joint Commission Accredited
Level 3 Trauma Center and Certified Chest Pain Center
Unit: 2nd floor ACU/PACU with 12 beds
Patient Ratios: 2:1 or 4:1 depending on area of care
Float between ACU and PACU (Pre-op phase 1 and phase 2)
PACU team also staffs Cath Lab recovery

Job Responsibilities & Environment

Provide nursing care in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Care for patients recovering from anesthesia, including critical care PACU and ICU patients
Participate in call rotation approximately 5-6 days per month (includes 1 weekend day and 1 Friday)
Use electronic health record systems such as Medhost and CQI

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing
Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab nursing
Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS)

Additional Information

Dress code: Navy blue scrubs provided by facility
Call shifts are staff-selected based on rotation
Patient population includes adult and critical care patients
Local area offers outdoor recreation such as fishing, golfing, swimming, and hiking
