Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel Position
Location: Chandler, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
Provide specialized inpatient rehabilitation therapy focused on adult patients recovering from neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and other complex conditions. The role involves working in a 40-bed rehab unit with a patient ratio of approximately 8 patients per therapist, supported by 1-2 assistants and 1 rehab tech.
Patient Population & Care Areas
- Adult patients in inpatient rehabilitation
- Neurological Rehabilitation (brain, spinal cord, nerve injuries)
- Spinal Cord Injuries (traumatic and non-traumatic)
- Brain Injuries (physical, cognitive, behavioral rehabilitation)
- Stroke Rehabilitation (functional recovery and complication management)
- Amputation rehabilitation (strength, mobility, independence)
- Orthopedics (fractures, dislocations, joint replacements)
- Wound Care (complex wound healing)
- Respiratory Therapy support (oxygen, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP)
- Intravenous Antibiotics and PICC line care
Work Schedule & Environment
- Shift: Days
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Float option available to a sister facility 8 miles away
- Electronic Health Record system: UDS
- Equipment used includes Vector, Litegait, Saeto, InMotion ARM, Senaptec Sensory, Technobody
- Scrub color: Wine
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Knowledge of GG scoring system
