Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Position

Location: Somerset, Kentucky
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Acute care travel RN position in a 295-bed, state-of-the-art hospital serving an 11-county area in south central Kentucky.
• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Neuro ICU
• Shift: Nights
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend (EOW)
• No call requirements
• May be required to float within a 25-mile radius of the facility

Patient Care & Environment

• Patient ratios: 4:1 on day shift, 5:1 on night shift
• Electronic Health Record system: Meditech
• Patient population includes adult and neuro patients
• Trauma level: Not specified

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• Medical-Surgical experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications required prior to start:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• May be required to float to other units within a 25-mile radius
• Facility employs over 1,200 healthcare professionals and offers advanced cardiac and neurosurgery services including a Spine Center accreditation
