Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Gallatin, Tennessee

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care on a Medical Surgical Telemetry unit in a Level III Trauma Center with 167 beds.
• Serve a diverse patient population of all ages.
• Work in a fully accredited facility with a strong community presence.

Unit Details

• Department: Medical Surgical Combination 2
• Shift: See shift details (36 hours per week guaranteed)
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Float: Possibility to float to similar med/surg units
• Equipment: Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• IV insertion skills required

Skills and Experience

• Experience in Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing required
• IV insertion skills required
• Professional demeanor and appearance required (scrubs acceptable; casual wear not allowed)

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• Patient ratios and number of beds on the unit not specified
• No specific dress code color required for scrubs
