Position Details

• Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L/D), OB/GYN with simple med/surg overflow
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift:

  • L/D: 7 PM - 7 AM (night shift), 2 shifts per week
  • OB: 7 AM - 7 PM (day shift)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Rotating every other weekend
• Call Requirements: Minimal
• Number of Openings:

  • 2 L/D RNs
  • 1 OB/PP/Med/Surg RN

Unit Profile

• Floor: 2nd floor
• Trauma Level: Not specified
• Beds:

  • L/D: 6 beds + 1 triage/rooming
  • PP: 12 beds
• Patient Ratios:

  • L/D: per AWHONN standards
  • PP: max 6:1, usually 3-4:1
• Patient Population: Obstetrics, Postpartum, Gynecology, Med/Surg overflow (hips, knees)
• Equipment/EHR: GE Centricity / Meditech (Meditech experience preferred)

Requirements

• Certifications:

  • BLS
  • L/D fetal monitoring class (within 2 years)
  • NRP
  • ACLS
• Experience: Minimum 2 years L/D experience required
• Float Requirements:

  • L/D: only to sit or task for low census
  • PP: rotates for low census
• Preferred Skills: Ability to circulate in OR for L/D cases
• Education: RN prepared
