Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel

  • Nearly 200 providers and 525 employees
  • Wide range of specialties including cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, obstetrics, gynecology, emergency medicine, gastroenterology, hospitalist services, intensivists, nephrology, hematology, urology, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, and wound care

Position Details

  • Department: Emergency Department
  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Nursing
  • Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend and some holidays
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: As needed
  • Number of Openings: 1

Unit Information

  • Number of Beds: 21 (12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, 5 fast track rooms)
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5
  • Patient Population: All ages
  • Equipment: Emergency equipment
  • EHR System: Cerner

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Registered Nurse License (RN)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency nursing
  • Certifications required prior to start:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
    • De-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Skills & Experience

  • Must have: Emergency nursing, trauma, resuscitation, IV therapy and drips, oxygen support, blood products administration, basic telemetry/EKG
  • Preferred: Emergency Medicine and Psychiatric ER experience

  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Sepsis
  • Cardiac emergencies
  • Neurological emergencies
  • Stroke

  • Scrub color: Any
  • Not allowed: Open-toed footwear, spandex pants, sweatshirts
