Travel RN Opportunity – Critical Care

Location: Mayfield, Kentucky
Facility Type: 107-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital
Unit: 2nd Floor Critical Care Unit
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care
• Number of Openings: 1
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Schedule: Alternating every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: None
• Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Number of Beds in Unit: 8
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech Magic

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, Handle with Care
• Required Education: AHA EKG/Rhythm course
• Must have fast-paced critical thinking skills and ability to work well in a team
• Float Requirements: MedSurg and Behavioral Health

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• Respiratory failure
• Sepsis
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Gastrointestinal (GI) bleed
• Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (Afib RVR)
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chronic Renal Failure

Additional Notes

• Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
