Travel RN Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Unit (Telemetry)

Location: Martinsville, Virginia
Facility Type: Acute-care hospital, licensed for 220 beds
Unit: Medical Surgical Unit (41 beds)
Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
Call Requirements: As needed
Patient Ratio: 1:4
Patient Population: All ages
Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech

Job Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical - Telemetry

• Experience Required: 1-2 years
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Float Requirements: May require travel within a 25-mile radius of the facility
• Orientation: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays (Travel candidates must be 60 miles or greater from facility)

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification
• Handle with Care certification
• Valid Registered Nurse License in Virginia

• Flexibility to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays
• Must ensure continuity of care and appropriate nursing coverage across units

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• Post-operative orthopedic procedures
• Total joint replacements

• Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
• No specific scrub color required; casual wear is not acceptable
• Facility is accredited by American College of Cardiology and American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer
• Facility offers comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency services, cardiac rehab, wound healing center, and oncology services
