Job Description

• Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting
• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition, communicating with care team, physicians, patients, and families
• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Collaborate across disciplines for patient care coordination including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support
• Evaluate and provide patient and family education tailored to age, culture, and condition
• Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN license to practice in North Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) preferred
• Experience: 2 years in specialty (Psychiatric Nursing) required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not specified (assumed not required)
