Travel RN Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry

Location: Martinsville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Medical/Surgical - Telemetry
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: As needed
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Population: All ages
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Unit Beds: 41
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
• Float Requirements: As needed; may require travel within a 25-mile radius of the facility

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse license to practice in Virginia
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
  • Handle with Care training
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical/Surgical specialty (Telemetry preferred)
• Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in stressful environments and take appropriate action
  • Flexibility to work all shift patterns including weekends and holidays

Additional Information

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
• Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
• Dress code: Scrubs required; no casual wear allowed
