Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Danville, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN)
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend Hours: Rotating weekends / as needed
Call Requirements: None
Number of Openings: 1
Patient Population: All ages
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4 to 1:6; may vary with patient acuity and volume
Unit Size: 31 beds plus 2 triage rooms (7 beds designated for Behavioral Health or Acute patients)
Electronic Health Records (EHR): Primarily MedHost (ED), Meditech for admit holds and behavioral health patients

Required Certifications

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Handle with Care / Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
NIH Certification
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)

Additional Information

Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a traveler
Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
Float assignments as needed
Dress code: Any color scrubs of traveler’s choice
Professional, positive, compassionate, and team-oriented personality preferred
