Travel RN Opportunity - ICU/IMU

Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: ICU and IMU
• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Number of Openings: 6
• Shift: 7 AM or 7 PM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: 12 hours (every other or every third weekend)
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Yes (may float to Telemetry or Overflow units)
• Patient Population: Adult
• Unit Beds: 16
• Patient Ratios:

  • ICU: 2:1
  • IMU: 3:1
  • Telemetry: 1:5

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in ICU/IMU specialty
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License (RN)
• Education: Associate degree required; BSN preferred

Skills & Knowledge

• EKG interpretation
• Critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of critical drips (vasopressors, sedation) and titration
• Teamwork and adaptability preferred

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• COPD
• Acute Respiratory Failure (ARF)
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Shock

Equipment & Systems

• Cardiac monitor
• Hill-Rom Progressive Care beds with scale
• Abbott Glucometer
• EndoTool
• Bair Hugger
• TR band
• Hotline 3 fluid warmer
• Baxter IV pumps
• Bedside Dialysis capability
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech EMR

Additional Information

• Orientation is bi-weekly
• No prior travel experience required
• Dress code: Scrubs (color not assigned), artificial nails not allowed
• Supervisor: Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse
