Travel COTA Opportunity - Lynnwood, Washington

Position Overview

Seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a travel assignment in an adult medical rehabilitation setting. The role involves providing occupational therapy interventions, assessing patient needs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a COTA

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in Washington State
  • Current CPR/BLS certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for patient care and supervise Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and students as needed
  • Assess patients’ needs and initiate appropriate occupational therapy interventions
  • Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness and recommend changes to physicians when necessary
  • Perform assessments and reassessments according to policy, including quality improvement scoring
  • Manage care for adult and geriatric patients in a rehabilitation program
  • Assess and intervene for patient pain affecting rehabilitation participation
  • Ensure patient safety and reduce healthcare errors during care delivery
  • Report patient progress and discharge barriers in team conferences
  • Develop and evaluate patient and family teaching plans
  • Maintain professional communication with physicians, staff, patients, and families
  • Participate in patient/family and interdisciplinary team conferences
  • Maintain department cleanliness, safety, and proper equipment use
  • Document patient goals and progress according to standards and policies
  • Assist with orientation, training, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Participate in infection control, safety, and fire safety programs
  • Adhere to dress code and professional appearance standards
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, and organizational compliance
