Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position

Location: Athens, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Post Partum / MedSurg
• Shift: See shift details (includes every other weekend/as needed)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: As needed

• Patient Population: Women’s services, all ages
• Unit: Post Partum / C-Wing
• Number of Beds: 14
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:5+
• EHR Systems: MedHost, Centricity Perinatal

Required Certifications & Licensure

• ACLS
• AWHONN
• BLS
• HWC
• NRP
• PALS
• Registered Nurse License valid in Tennessee
• Must be checked against the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to assignment

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 1+ year in specialty (Post-Partum experience required)
• Preferred Experience: Couplet Care experience desired
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Assess post-partum maternal health
• Assist with breastfeeding
• Monitor vital signs and watch for signs of complications
• Manage postpartum complications
• Administer medications
• Teach new parents essential newborn and maternal care for safe transition home
• Assist with pain management and healing after normal delivery or C-section
• Conduct physical and psychosocial assessments of the mother
• Provide emotional support and address psychosocial needs

Additional Notes

• Orientation is bi-weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel status
