Job Opportunity: RN - Med Surg (Travel)

Location: Bryson City, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract

Facility Overview

• Critical access hospital with 48 beds
• Serves Swain and Graham counties
• Offers primary and inpatient care, emergency, lab, imaging, rehab, urology, cardiopulmonary, geriatric outpatient, pediatric, gastroenterology services, and pain clinic
• Med-Surg unit is a 17-bed unit providing inpatient, observation, and swing bed services
• No surgeries performed onsite
• Strong interdisciplinary teamwork with PT/OT/Speech, RT, and 24-hour provider coverage
• 24-hour CT, X-Ray, and lab services available
• EHR system: Paragon

Unit Details

• Department: Medical Surgical (Progressive Care specialty)
• Patient Population: Adults 18+, majority 65+
• Patient Ratio: Maximum 1:6
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Rotating weekends; weekend shifts can be accommodated if needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: May float between Swain and Harris Regional on Med-Surg or equivalent nursing experience

Requirements

• Specialty: Progressive Care / Med-Surg
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years in specialty
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS required
• Skills: PICC/CVC management, wound care
• Licensure: Registered Nurse License (RN)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
