Job Opportunity: RN - Emergency Department

Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Specialty: Emergency Nursing
• Department: Emergency Department
• Shift: Days (7 AM – 7 PM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: Every other weekend and some holidays
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: As needed

Facility & Unit Information

• Trauma Level: 3
• Number of Beds: 21 (12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, 5 fast track rooms)
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Patient Population: All ages (geriatric, adult, pediatric)
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
• Environment: Fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Registered Nurse License (RN)
• Education: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) minimum
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • De-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Nursing (includes trauma, resuscitation, IV/IV drips, oxygen support, blood products, basic telemetry/EKG)
• Preferred Skills: Emergency Medicine experience

• COPD
• DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis)
• Sepsis
• Cardiac Emergencies
• Neurological Emergencies
• Stroke

Additional Notes

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
