Job Opportunity: RN - CVICU
Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Unit: CVICU (8 beds)
- Patient Population: Adult/Geriatric
- Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1, occasionally 1:1
- Shift: Not specified
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend or as needed
- Call Requirements: No on-call
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Registered Nurse License (RN)
- Education: Associate Nursing Degree minimum
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Certification
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU or related specialty experience (higher requirement between sources)
- At least 1 year of CVICU experience after orientation completion
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Skills and Competencies
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Experience with CVICU equipment such as Impella, IABP, CRRT
- Familiarity with common diagnoses and treatments including CABG, TAVR, STEMI, and Carotids
- Preferred: CCRN certification

- Float Requirements: Per scheduled rotation
- Dress Code: Professional scrubs of any color (no unacceptable attire specified)
- Trauma Level: Level 3
