Job Opportunity: RN - ICU (Travel)

Location: Elko, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
• Required Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU specialty
• Shift: 12-hour shifts
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Weekend Hours: As needed/rotating
• Call Requirements: If on call, must report within 30 minutes. No other call requirements outside scheduled shifts.
• Float Requirements: May float to other units or be on call if ICU is on standby.

Unit Information

• Unit: ICU
• Number of Beds: 7
• Patient Ratios:

  • 2:1 for higher acuity ICU patients
  • 5:1 for medical surgical overflow
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatrics
• Common Diagnoses/Treatments:

  • COPD, CHF, respiratory failure
  • Overdose, alcohol withdrawal
  • DKA, STEMI, AMI, stroke
• Equipment Used: IV pumps, SCDs, telemetry, bedside monitoring
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Med Host

Required Certifications and Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Registered Nurse License
• NIH Certification

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with:

  • ART lines, central lines
  • Ventilators, BiPAP
  • Post cardiac Cath lab care
  • Post-surgical care
  • Moderate sedation
  • Chest tube management
  • Electrolyte management
  • Telemetry

Additional Notes

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
