Registered Nurse (NICU) - Travel Position

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse with NICU specialty for a Level 2 NICU unit in a comprehensive acute care facility. The unit includes labor rooms, postpartum, and NICU beds, providing care for laboring/postpartum mothers and newborns.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Department: Obstetrics (OB)
• Unit: NICU (Level 2)
• Beds: 4 labor rooms, 9 postpartum, 4 NICU
• Patient Ratio: 3:1 in NICU
• Equipment: CPAP, Ventilator, UVC, IV
• Electronic Health Records: Meditech and OB Tracevue
• Patient Population: Laboring/postpartum mothers and newborns
• Shift: See shift details
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Weekend Hours: Every 3rd weekend / as needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Postpartum/Well Baby Nursery

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NRP
• STABLE

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), with NICU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Must thrive in a teamwork environment and prioritize patient safety and care

Common Diagnoses/Treatments

• Respiratory distress
• Hypoglycemia

Dress Code

• Solid color scrubs (no prints)

Additional Notes

• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
