Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Sierra Vista, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide nursing care in an acute care medical-surgical unit located in a 34-bed hospital. The unit serves a patient population including geriatric, adult, and occasional pediatric patients (pediatrics not assigned to travelers). The role involves working primarily the night shift (7 PM - 7 AM) with occasional weekend shifts and on-call duties when the unit is down staffed.
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)
- Number of Beds: 34
- Patient Ratios: 6:1
- Patient Population: Telemetry, surgical, general medical patients
- Equipment: Alaris pumps, SCD machines, feeding tubes, telemetry monitors
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
- Float Requirements: May be asked to care for inpatient holds
Schedule
- Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Weekend Hours: Occasional weekend work required (same shift hours)
- Call Requirements: Only when down staffed or placed on call
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical-surgical (Med Surg) and telemetry nursing, with experience within the last year
- One year or more of total travel nursing experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Healthcare experience required
