Travel Registered Nurse (Neuro Stepdown)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Patient Population

Unit: Neuro Progressive Care Unit (5th floor)
Number of Beds: 20
Patient Population: Adult, Geriatric
Common Diagnoses/Treatments: Stable post-stroke, stable neuro surgery patients, telemetry patients, medical patients
Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:22

Role & Specialty

Specialty: Neuro Medical Strokes, Neuro-ortho surgeries, overflow telemetry and medical patients
Shift: Not specified
Call Requirements: None
Float Requirements: Medical, Telemetry, Neonatal units

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in medical, telemetry, and neonatal nursing
Experience with Cerner electronic health record system

Additional Information

Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
Orientation occurs bi-weekly
No weekend or guaranteed weekly hours specified
Facility includes multiple specialty centers including Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU

This position is suitable for experienced Neuro stepdown RNs with Cerner experience seeking a travel assignment in North Carolina.
