Job Opportunity: Pharmacist
Location: Lynchburg, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Hospital setting experience required (no retail pharmacy experience).
- Responsibilities include:
- Knowledge of clinical criteria and managed care requirements for inpatient and outpatient authorization.
- Advocating for patient coverage and completing pre- and re-certifications.
- Reporting denials and authorization information.
- Communicating with interdisciplinary teams and physicians for peer-to-peer reviews.
- Participating in treatment teams to ensure staff knowledge of coverage.
- Working with Director of Nursing to meet documentation requirements.
- Completing appeals thoroughly and timely.
- Interfacing with managed care organizations, external reviews, and payers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Hospital Pharmacist license in Virginia
- Pharmacist degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy (Pharm.D. preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience, including experience within the last year
- Hospital setting pharmacy experience (no retail pharmacy)
