Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Gallatin, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Behavioral Health
  • Number of Beds: 12
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Trauma Level: Level III Trauma Center
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
  • Shift: See shift details
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
  • Weekend Hours: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Float Requirements: Yes – may float to Medical-Surgical if needed

Job Description

  • Provide quality nursing care to patients with behavioral health needs
  • Common diagnoses include Alzheimer’s, behavioral disturbance, failure to thrive, depression, and suicidal ideation
  • Team-oriented work environment
  • Preferred experience includes geriatric psychiatric and medical floor experience

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Required Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) or Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC)

Additional Information

  • Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
  • Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
  • Dress code: Scrubs of any color acceptable
