Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with Emergency Department specialty to provide high-quality care in a Level IV Trauma emergency service unit. The position involves working in a 20-bed ER with a patient population of all ages, managing high acuity cases.
Shift & Hours
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every Other/As Needed
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: As Needed
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- NIH Certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Required Licensure
- Registered Nurse License valid in New Mexico
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of RN Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
- Emergency services experience preferred
Patient Ratios
- ESI 1, 2, & Horizontal 3s: 4:1
- ESI Vertical 3s, 4, & 5: 7:1
Electronic Health Record (EHR) System
- MedHost
Work Environment & Culture
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to teach are valued personality traits
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color; casual wear and facility-branded clothing are not acceptable
Additional Requirements
- Must be fingerprinted and undergo background check as per New Mexico state requirements (travelers may start on a 14-day waiver with supervision while waiting for results)
- Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a travel nurse
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 3 years of RN Emergency Department experience, including experience within the last year
- Emergency services experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
