Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Surgery
Location: Gallatin, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide nursing care in orthopedic surgery, post-operative, and medical/surgical units within a Level III Trauma Center. The unit has 23 beds with patient ratios of 4-6:1 and serves geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients (13 years and older).

- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: As needed, approximately every third weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: Must be willing to float as needed
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIH certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in nursing specialty (Orthopedic Surgery/Post-Op/Med-Surg)
Patient Population
- Geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients (13 years and older)
Work Environment & Tools
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Meditech
- Trauma Level: III
- Patient diagnoses commonly include post-operative joints, post-op bariatric, post-op gastrointestinal, and trauma patients

Additional Requirements
- Must pass Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to assignment start
- Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed; T-shirts must display hospital logo; no acrylic nails
Requirements / Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 1 year of Orthopedic Surgery nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Summary
This travel RN position requires a motivated nurse with at least 1 year of relevant experience, appropriate Tennessee licensure, and certifications. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population in a busy orthopedic and post-operative unit within a Level III Trauma Center. Flexibility to float and work some weekends is required.
