Job Details

- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
- Call Requirements: As needed

- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Meditech
- Patient Population: All ages
- Float Requirements: As needed
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- HWC (available on-site)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Virginia
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly on Tuesdays
- Random drug screening and criminal background consent required
- Professional dress code: scrubs allowed, no casual wear
- Must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as a traveler

- Professional demeanor
- Experience with common Med-Surg diagnoses and treatments preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a community hospital setting
This position offers the opportunity to work in a 250-bed academic community hospital with comprehensive surgical services, 24-hour emergency department, cardiac rehabilitation, oncology services, and advanced wound care. The hospital is recognized as a Chest Pain Center and Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
