Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Location: Wilson, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in the Emergency Department with a 26-bed unit
- Patient ratios typically 1:4-5, flexible depending on acuity
- Equipment includes GE Monitors and standard ED equipment
- Electronic Health Record system: Meditech (experience preferred)
- Patient population includes all ages (geriatric, adult, pediatric)
- Common diagnoses and treatments: Respiratory Distress, Overdose, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Dialysis, Hypertension (HTN)
- Shift and number of openings vary
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend
- No call requirements
- Float assignments as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Required certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly
- Dress code: Scrubs (any color acceptable)
- No unacceptable attire specified
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
