Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Marquette, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a 24-bed unit specializing in Neuro, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics.
- Patient population includes all ages over 28 days.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:6.
- Common diagnoses and treatments include trauma, post-operative orthopedic and neurological care, and general pediatric cases (0-3 pediatric rooms on average).
- Shift: Night shift (NOC)
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: 3 weekends every 6 weeks
- No call requirements
- Float requirements: Yes, to inpatient units
- Electronic Health Records (EHR): Paragon, transitioning to Cerner soon
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience, with Med Surg experience within the last year
- At least 2 years of experience working with adult patients
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pediatric patients (2+ years preferred)
- Teamwork and collaboration skills

- Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs; refer to facility dress code policy for details
- Facility is a trauma level 2 center with specialty care in heart & vascular, cancer, brain & spine, rehab, behavioral health, digestive health, bariatric medicine, women's health, and pediatrics
- Located in the central region of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, largest community in the area
