Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, as well as orientees. The RN participates in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on patient education and safety, while adhering to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
  • Develop individualized plans of care based on assessment data.
  • Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status effectively to ensure continuity of care.
  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Contribute positively to the work environment, maintaining calm and effective communication.
  • Assume charge responsibility as needed after the orientation period.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
  • Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
  • ICU experience is highly desired.
