Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Oncology

Location

This position is located in a facility within the state. The city is not specified.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts available: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00). Rotating weekends and holidays are required. Floating between all campuses is also necessary.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care to oncology patients, supporting them from newly diagnosed stages through end-of-life care. The nurse will also assist patients with sickle cell disease experiencing acute pain crises and manage basic medical-surgical conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care in an inpatient oncology setting.
  • Monitor telemetry patients and interpret results as necessary.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Administer medications and manage PCA pumps.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout their stay.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical Oncology.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Telemetry interpretation and monitoring experience preferred.
  • Chemo certification not required as chemotherapy administration is not part of the duties.
