Night shift: 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), on-call, every other weekend, and holidays required.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive care to low and high-risk obstetrical patients. This role requires a strong capacity to multitask and utilize critical thinking in dynamic patient situations. The nurse will work closely with a collaborative team in a Baby Friendly Designated Hospital, ensuring high standards of patient care throughout the labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn periods.

Responsibilities

• Triage obstetrical patients and manage labor & delivery processes.
• Provide routine postpartum and newborn care.
• Assist in high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and circulate for C-sections.
• Administer medications including Magnesium Sulfate and Pitocin, and perform IV therapy.
• Conduct newborn assessments and discharge teaching for parents.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications are required; STABLE certification preferred.
• Ability to adeptly manage triage and care for both routine and complicated obstetrical cases.
