Schedule
This position requires a rotating schedule that includes 3 twelve-hour shifts, covering day and night shifts (7a - 7p / 7p - 7a), every other weekend, and holiday shifts. There is no guaranteed time off (RTO) during the three major holidays.
Job Description
The ICU Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an intensive care unit setting. This role requires the ability to assess patient conditions, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care to ICU patients of varying age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
- Monitor and document patient progress while adapting care plans as necessary.
- Respond effectively to patient needs and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current New York State licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS via the RQI system within the clinical orientation period.
- Basic Coronary Care certification within six months of hire.
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office products is preferred.
