No guaranteed holiday rotation. Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday rotation with three 12-hour shifts plus two on-call shifts per four weeks.

Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and provides direct care through appropriate interventions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct triage and assess patient needs, prioritizing care according to Triage Standards.
• Perform primary and secondary assessments, documenting deviations from norm and identifying necessary interventions.
• Engage with patients and families to build trust and provide updates on care processes.
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments, offering discharge instructions and education on continuing care.
• Maintain effective communication throughout the ER visit, anticipating patient and family needs.
• Encourage cooperation among team members for optimal patient outcomes and delegate tasks appropriately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (must be AHA or RQI).
• Two years of acute hospital experience as a Registered Nurse, including at least one year in an Emergency Department environment.
• Valid state RN licensure.
