Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role includes planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patients' needs. The nurse will identify patient needs through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, developing individualized care plans. Duties involve performing therapeutic nursing interventions and managing patient care, while documenting care based on standards and clinical priorities. The nurse advocates for evidence-based practices and provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and create appropriate care plans.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions while managing patient care efficiently.
• Document nursing care accurately per standards of practice and patient acuity.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support innovations in care delivery.

Schedule

This position requires a shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working three 12-hour shifts weekly, with every third weekend required. There are no holiday or on-call requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience working in Cardiovascular ICU required.
• Strong experience in telemetry, stepdown/surgical, thoracic, and vascular stepdown required.
• LVAD competency required.
• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Current NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required.
• NIHSS certification required; CEU contact hours for stroke (4 hours) are also mandatory.
