Job Description

The Med Surg Rehabilitation Registered Nurse will provide total nursing care for patients on the unit as well as participate in patient and family teaching. The nurse will assume responsibility for patient care coordination and may be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse. The role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide total nursing care for assigned patients.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Coordinate with ancillary nursing and patient team personnel.
• Maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting.
• Float between Acute Rehab and Med Surg as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of recent Med Surg Rehabilitation experience.
• Charge RN experience is required.
• Previous travel nursing experience of at least 3 months.
• BSN preferred.
• Current certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA).
• Must possess a Vermont state nursing license.
• Traveler candidates must have their own vehicle.
