Schedule

12-hour night shifts with a minimum of every other weekend required. Holiday requirements include working during Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.

Job Description

The Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse will work in an acute care setting with a focus on telemetry patients. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring heart rhythms, providing post-operative care, and managing a variety of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, diabetes, and dementia. Collaborative teamwork is essential in providing seamless patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry data and respond appropriately to patient needs.
• Provide post-operative care for orthopedic, urology, and GI patients.
• Perform NG tube and peripheral IV insertions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
• Apply professional nursing judgment and skills in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience, with at least 1 year in telemetry nursing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Telemetry certification preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be obtained prior to starting.
• Previous travel experience is required.
