Job Description

The Telemetry Float Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit, including monitoring vital signs and performing assessments to evaluate patient conditions. The nurse must be proficient in rhythm identification and capable of handling critical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and telemetry readings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Coordinate with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Document patient information in the Epic charting system.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health concerns and treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NY Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically with telemetry patients.
• Proven ability to read rhythms and successfully pass a hospital proctored test with >80% accuracy in rhythm identification and 100% accuracy in identifying critical rhythms.
• Epic charting experience is necessary.
• Experience with critical drips and CVA care is a plus.
• Flu vaccine or exemption is required.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4-5.
