Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
• Utilize knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications.
• Contribute to productivity and effective resource utilization.
• Comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Minimum of six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing experience.
• Experience in a cardiac telemetry department, including TAVR, watchmans, and other cardiac procedures.
• Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty.
• Preferred: Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC).
