Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing patient care in a 12-bed inpatient oncology unit, including medical-surgical overflow. The nurse will administer chemotherapy, manage oncologic emergencies, and provide symptom management for patients with various cancer diagnoses. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects.
• Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values.
• Provide care and management of central lines and ports.
• Implement nursing interventions for symptom management.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Current RN License.
• ACLS, BLS certifications required; ONS chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy and managing infusions.
