Job Description

The Medical Imaging Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director and/or Section Head, the manager, and Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. The technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images while ensuring a safe and positive experience for patients. In radiation-producing modalities, technologists practice and enforce the radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical procedures and assist in patient evaluation and care.
• Create diagnostic images using specific imaging modalities.
• Implement and adhere to radiation safety measures as mandated by New York State.
• Support continued learning and teaching regarding technological advancements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate Degree in Applied Science required.
• Diploma in X-Ray required.
• Graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program required.
• ARRT Registered upon hire, required.
• New York State registration or a limited permit to practice in New York upon hire, required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire, required.
• Previous experience preferred.
