Job Description
The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced Emergency Department with 34 beds, primarily serving neonates to geriatrics. The average patient volume is about 100 visits per day, and the department is equipped to handle a variety of medical conditions. The nurse will be responsible for high-quality patient care, performing triage, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, including IV teams and respiratory services.
Responsibilities
- Provide emergency care to patients across various age groups
- Monitor vital signs and manage cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmias
- Administer medications, including IV vasopressors and emergency medications
- Perform triage and manage patient flow within the department
- Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in treating mental and behavioral health conditions
- Assist with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Maintain and manage IV therapy, including central lines and blood products
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department is required
- Preferred community hospital experience
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, PALS, and NIH Stroke Certifications
- Experience using Epic and Pyxis systems
- Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
