Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while embracing the core values of the organization focused on superior quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record accurately and timely.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education on the day of admission.
- Communicate vital patient information systematically to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Safeguard personal and environmental safety following hospital policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to team dynamics, providing calm direction and reassurance.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and equipment.
- Assume charge responsibilities as requested, participating in professional growth.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
- ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
- Minimum of Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience
