Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities while preventing illness and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development according to relevant regulations and organizational policies. The role promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care while managing a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely according to organizational policy.
• Participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and contribute to improvement initiatives.
• Engage in professional development and continuing nursing education.
• Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Adhere to all organizational values and perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

This position is a 12-hour day shift, working 48 hours per week.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Six months to three years of nursing (RN) experience required.
• Current NYS RN License required.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross) required.
• Clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting preferred.
• Professional certification in a nursing specialty is a plus.
