Job Description

The Vascular Technologist is a diagnostic ultrasound professional responsible for performing diagnostic vascular ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. This role includes ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines, while working under the guidance of a supervisor or technical director.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic vascular examinations as ordered by physicians.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
• Manage medical record and imaging systems appropriately.
• Transport and position patients safely and comfortably.
• Assist physicians with special procedures in the vascular lab.
• Maintain positive interpersonal relations within the department.
• Establish and uphold ethical relationships within the hospital.
• Ensure compliance with IAC standards.
• Assist in training and precepting new employees and students.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to hospital policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduation from an accredited institution.
• Registration (or eligibility for registration) with ARDMS (RVT preferred) or CCI (RVS certification).
• Minimum of two years of experience under the supervision of a qualified vascular physician or laboratory.
• 15 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) required every three years in compliance with IAC standards.
