Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and advocacy in the care of individuals and families. TheRN is responsible for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development according to the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services policies, and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care in managing a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Utilize knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications.
• Participate in and support the Nursing Shared Governance Model.
• Engage in professional development and complete necessary education requirements.
• Provide support for new employees and students.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Six months to three years of nursing (RN) experience.
• Current NYS RN License.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
• Preferred: Professional certification in a related nursing specialty and relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC).
• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred.
