Job Description

The MedSurg RN will provide exceptional, evidence-based care in a 26-bed Intermediate Care unit (IMCU), focusing on adult acute care patients requiring specialized attention. Responsibilities include managing patients with various needs, including those requiring continuous monitoring, airway management, and IV infusions. The position demands quick adaptability and a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment and care for a ratio of 1:5 to 1:7.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV therapy and manage peripheral line care.
• Utilize rapid response and code team procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a valid New York nursing license in hand.
• 1 year of experience in a MedSurg or similar setting required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory.
• Must be able to float to ICU or MedSurg as needed.
