This is an urgent need position with a contract length of up to 32 weeks.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts are required. A minimum of every other weekend is expected, and flexibility in scheduling is necessary to meet unit and patient care needs.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical ICU (M3 SICU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care. The role involves floating to the Medical ICU (MICU) as needed. You will be required to work during at least two out of four holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients in the Surgical ICU.
Float to Medical ICU if required.
Adapt schedules to meet the needs of the unit and patient care.
Ensure compliance with all safety and nursing standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

A minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience, preferably in a large teaching facility.
Registered Nurse licensure in good standing.
AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications are required.
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required before starting.
CCRN certification is preferred.
Experience with hemodynamic devices and typical patient populations, including post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma-level 1, general surgery, and neurosurgery, is essential.
Experience with EPIC EMR within the past 2 years is mandatory.
