This is an urgent need position with a contract length of up to 32 weeks.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts are required. A minimum of every other weekend is expected, and flexibility in scheduling is necessary to meet unit and patient care needs.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Surgical ICU (M3 SICU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care. The role involves floating to the Medical ICU (MICU) as needed. You will be required to work during at least two out of four holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients in the Surgical ICU.
  • Float to Medical ICU if required.
  • Adapt schedules to meet the needs of the unit and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and nursing standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • A minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience, preferably in a large teaching facility.
  • Registered Nurse licensure in good standing.
  • AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications are required.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required before starting.
  • CCRN certification is preferred.
  • Experience with hemodynamic devices and typical patient populations, including post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma-level 1, general surgery, and neurosurgery, is essential.
  • Experience with EPIC EMR within the past 2 years is mandatory.
